Merit Badge Connections, the program at CCAC Boyce Campus hosted by Troop 58 of Tecumsa District, will continue on Sundays, January 29, and February 19. Please note:

Troop Junior Leader Training, previously postponed due to poor weather, has been rescheduled. The program will take place on Saturday, February 4 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Monroeville Sports Center, 855 MacBeth Drive. All scouts who serve in leadership positions should attend. Please sign up on the event tab of the website or sign up on the paper sign up sheet at the January 31 Troop meeting.

Troop 143, along with Pack 143, will mark the annual Scout Sunday on Sunday, February 5 at 11:00 AM at North American Martyrs Church on Haymaker Road in Monroeville. All are welcome to participate in the event, scouts, siblings, and parents as well as grandparents and other family members. Scouts should wear full Class A uniform to this event.

The annual Pinewood Derby for Cub Scout Pack 143 was held on Friday, January 27. The Cubs had a good derby, with lots of close races. Boy Scouts and leaders from Troop 143 helped to make the event a success by assisting with set up on Thursday evening as well as registering cars, helping with the pit area, and running the races on Friday along with cleaning up afterwards.

Troop 143 has been allotted ten spaces at the annual 171st Air Refueling Wing Scout Skills Program, to be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the wing's facility near the airport. We need to complete registration by early February to secure those spaces. Priority will be given to those scouts who have not yet attended the program. If there are more than ten scouts interested, a random draw will be held to select the participants.

The annual Tecumsa District Klondike Derby was held January 13-15, 2012 at Camp Twin Echo. Ten scouts represented Troop 143 in the Icy Patrol and the Snow Patrol. Everyone did an excellent job at the event stations, with meals, and with the weather.
