Timberline Trip Preparations

Posted on Dec 15 2014 - 11:35am

We're less than a week away from the winter sports weekend trip to Timberline Four Seasons Resort, and things are shaping up down there. The mountain cam shows them making snow, and it looks like there will be quite a base by the time the Troop arrives, http://timberlineresort.com/snowcam.php. Almost the entire Troop will be participating, so it should be a great time.

Collection - Hats and Gloves

Posted on Dec 15 2014 - 11:34am

The Lackawanna District of the Laurel Highlands Council is conducting a service project by collecting new and gently used hats and gloves for the Jubilee Association (formerly known as the Jubilee Soup Kitchen) of Pittsburgh for their disadvantaged clients. As our District Chair says, by collecting these items, "We will be doing a good deed for Sister Liquori and her clients, we will be "keeping it green" by recycling/reusing these items, and we will be making someone's life a little easier in the cold, cold winter."

Second Trip to Salvation Army - Shopping and Bagging Complete

Posted on Dec 14 2014 - 4:09pm

We returned to the Salvation Army for service with the Treasures for Children project on Tuesday, December 9. Scouts, siblings, leaders, and parents shopped for the disadvantaged children and prepared gifts for distribution over the coming week. Three different service areas from the region were covered during our service time, and we bagged toys and other gifts for approximately 100 children. In addition, we straightened up the Toy Shop for other volunteers during the remainder of the week. For some pictures, see Photo Albums.
