Eagle Career Day Coming Up

Our Eagle Scouts, Life Scouts (our future Eagles) and their parents are invited to the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business, to hear speakers and panel discussions directed at guiding Eagle Scout careers. Whether your interest is in going to college, entering the labor trades, or seeking a career in the military, the National Eagle Scout Association of Pittsburgh (NESA) wants our Laurel Highland Eagles to make an informed choice.

Public Speaking

We will be starting the Public Speaking merit badge this Tuesday. This is one of the most important badges to have, and will greatly help you the rest of your life. I have the sign up sheet and all are welcome to start with us this Tuesday.

Troop Accounts

We will be updating the Troop accounts on Troop track on Tuesday Febuary 14th with Henry, Mary and Steve (our financial committee) . We will also be helping each Scout set up a budget, to help them through the year. Trrop Track website should be accurate moving forward after Febuary 14th. Parents are welcome to come and check their accounts as your son is added.

Cit In Community Presentation this Tuesday

The Citizenship In The Community presentations are scheduled for this Tuesday, February 7th.  Please *be prepared* to give a short (10 minute) presentation on your community (Monroeville or Penn Hills) using MS PowerPoint (or Google Slides). If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ward.

Campership Applications Due March 1

Laurel Highlands Council offers the opportunity to apply for camperships to assist families for whom the cost of attending Summer Resident Camp at an in-council property (Camp Freedom or Camp Liberty at Heritage Reservation or Camp Seph Mack) presents difficulty. The form must be completed by the scout and family then submitted to the Scoutmaster before sending it to the Council Service Center at Flag Plaza. All applications must be received by March 1, 2017. The form is attached to this message for those interested.
