Hoagie & Pizza Sale!!

We will begin a hoagie & pizza fundraiser this month.  We will do 3 months and see where everyone is at. If a 4th one is in demand then we can do another in June, but I'd really like to have this wrapped up by May.  Each item nets your Scout a 50% profit towards their own individual account to be used for their Scouting needs.  A change this year from years past, we are going to make all the items be $7 to make everything seem easier and no coins to worry about.  When turning in the money please turn in 1 check/money order payable to Troop 143 or cash in larger bills.  We don't want to have to chase down your neighbor or Uncle Tom for insufficient checks and receiving $200 in singles and coins from everyone makes it a little crazy.  If you have any questions please ask Kathy Buzzie at buzzies99@gmail.com (please put scouts in the subject) or via cell at 412-389-1331.  The order form and sale info is attached for you to print.

April Service Projects - Scouting for Food and Sedlak Clean Up Day

The Troop will be conducting its annual spring service projects in April. April is Scouting for Food month, and we will be collecting at the two Giant Eagle stores on Sunday, April 9 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM and delivering the donations to the Pitcairn Food Pantry immediately following. Please sign up to work a two-hour shift (or all day!) as soon as possible. Scouts and leaders should wear field uniform to this activity. In addition, we will again participate in the 22nd annual Jack Sedlak Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 22 between 9:00-11:00 AM at the Cleveland Steward Elementary School/Monroeville Public Library/Monroeville Senior Center. All participating should dress for the weather and to get dirty - gloves and trash bags will be provided. An appreciation picnic will be held immediately afterwards at Monroeville Community Park West with food, prizes, and more. Please sign up as soon as possible.

Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges - Opportunity at the Pool

Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges will be offered in April at Gateway High School Pool. The opportunity will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays, April 19, 21, 26, and 28 from 6:30-9:00 PM. Please sign up as soon as possible. Scouts should wear or bring swim trunks and towel (locker room space will be available for changing) and swim googles if you wish. In addition, all Scouts and leaders planning to attend Summer Camp will be provided with an opportunity to complete the BSA swimmer's test during this time frame - exact date/time will be announced.

Spring Camporee at Meadowcroft Village

The Spring Camporee will be held May 5-7 at Meadowcroft Village and Rockshelter in Washington County. The program will be put on by staff at the village using the Native American Village, the 1800s Village, and the Rockshelter. Meadowcroft has remains of human civilization from 16,000 years ago, making it the oldest site of huamn habitation in North America. Sessions will include hands-on activities such as native american dart throwing, blacksmithing, candle making, and much more. The Troop will tent camp on the grounds and prepare meals in our campsite. As always, the fee for the weekend will be $25. Register on-line or on the sign up sheet at Troop meetings.

Health forms

I need all health forms turned into John Buzzie no later than June 13th. This is a requirement that has to be done, please dont wait to get this done.
